The current oil industry is characterized by high uncertainties and a subsequent focus on efficiency. This scenario, coupled with digital evolution of upstream plants, highlights the need for an advanced and flexible monitoring platform able to integrate critical information and operator’s knowledge, optimizing asset management and decision-making processes (from maintenance to operations, production and finance).
This paper describes the development of an on-line, real time and dynamic Digital Oilfield Platform based on PI AVEVA deployed on a giant brown oilfield. The innovative, integrated digital platform developed thanks to PI tools, represents a game changer for the oilfield on which has been applied. Flexibility and collaborative features are the keys to engage operators and engineers into a continuous and virtuous asset optimization process, unlocking their know-how potential, and committing them into the digital revolution based on data availability and democracy
