The continuous monitoring of vibrations and temperatures of rotating equipment  is crucial in assessing its condition. The presentation describes how this principle was implemented on various devices (turbogenerators, pumps, ventilators etc.) in thermal power plants operated by CEZ, a.s. in Czech Republic. The solution is based on the PI System and its three components – PI Asset Framework and Analytics – process data analyses, PI Vision for presentation and quick decision-making in case of device malfunctions and PI DatatLink (plug-in to Microsoft Excel) for detailed equipment assessment.
