Digitalization is one of the corporate strategies of BASF. Our vision is that digitalization is a key differentiator to position BASF as leading chemical supplier for our customers. In the light of digitalization new technologies and requirements are introduced. In order to enable these a structural renovation of the Plant Information Management System (PIMS) landscape was needed. The decision was made to implement the AVEVA OSIsoft PI system because it met our expectations regarding reliability & sustainability, data quality, contextualization and open platform. Together with system integrator Magion we accomplished to implement a state of the art AVEVA OSIsoft PI landscape. By extensive change management we achieved successful onboarding of the users to the new platform. This new landscape enables us to implement new use cases like batch/lot registration with event frames, product stock calculations and reporting and daily reports on production and consumption. Towards the future strategy we fit for purpose. We are delighted to share our success story with other customers of AVEVA OSIsoft.
