This presentation focuses on an architectural design based on PI & AF server and OSIsoft Cloud Services (OCS) able to concentrate, store and distribute different streams of data sets. In IMA LIFE machines, “slow” sensors, with a sampling dynamics around seconds, generate data streams altogether with “fast” streams, extracted from low-level data buffers inside the PLCs or from sensors such as accelerometers.

All the streams available from the production line, aligned and structured inside AF and PI, are then connected to the OCS cloud. The cloud area acts mainly as a decoupler & distributor agent between the production area inside the pharmaceutical company, where the data reside, and the IMA data room where the analysis and data processing phase takes place. Thanks to the IMA LIFE analytical expertise and the OSI-PI real-time data flow, the final customer is able to keep the plant under control, having complete visibility on the efficiency of the line and its maintenance status.
